We are very excited this year to offer a world class benefit concert with all proceeds going to the American Heart Association!

Sara Bareilles:

Grammy nominated, Epic recording artist, Sara Bareilles is coming to Wilkesboro and will be performing songs from her brand new album, Kaleidoscope Heart which will go on sale September 7th. Her first single off the new album, King of Anything, is currently paying on radio and getting rave reviews. Rolling Stone recently awarded the track a three star review stating “Like her 2007 hit “Love Song,” this single shows off Bareilles’ ability to tuck a heart-felt kiss off into a perky piano-pop tune.”

Kruger Brothers:

Some call them “Jazz”.  Some call them “Classical”.  Some call them “Bluegrass”.  They are all right.  Experience what happens when these innovative, soulful, world-class virtuosos put on a music performance not be forgotten.  Originally from Europe, and now living right here in Wilkesboro, the Kruger Brothers is a music that celebrates the best of what music can be:  exciting, engaging, intelligent and delightful.

Josh Day:

Wilkesboro native, Josh Day is Sara Bareilles’s drummer.  He is the son of Lynn Day and the late Sam Day for whom this walk honors.  When Josh is not touring with Sara, he stays busy performing and recording with a variety of artists including the Kruger Brothers.

Welcome to the Wilkes Heart and Stroke Walk.  This is an annual event to
celebrate the life of Sam Day.  The walk is a fun family event that promotes exercise and a healthy lifestyle as ways to prevent cardiovascular disease. Participants leave knowing that not only have they done something for a worthwhile cause, they have spent the day doing something good for themselves.

We are a small group, working for a large cause and we hope you will join us on October 9th.  Cardiovascular disease touches all our lives in some way, but by
working together we can make a difference!

We are excited to announce this year that the celebration will include a benefit concert with all proceeds being donated to the American Heart Association.  Stay tuned...the artists will be announced soon!

We hope that you will support our fight against the nation’s #1 and #3 killer.  Your dedication to the cause of reducing disability and death from heart disease and stroke is helping save lives each year in Wilkes County and across the nation.
